“The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” written by an English poet named Samuel Taylor Coleridge a literary ballet in poem form. In the “Ancient Mariner” The main character (The Bright-Eyed Mariner) has to face many decision, and problems. The only way he comes to find a solution is by going through the hardest task that waits at the end of his journey. In the poem the author really expresses the power, and strength in which mother nature possess. One example that mother nature can be so cruel, and so powerful is when the mariner kills an Albatross, the bird that signifies land. Once he killed the bird he gloats and disrespects the animal in which he just killed. The storm slashes at the sails, rocks the boat intensely back and forth, the waves a mile high. Wherever he looked was the harsh depths of the ocean. While the harsh waves slap, and bang against the sides of the ship the captain wonders what he did to deserve this, then it comes to his mind, the albatross that he gloated upon when it was killed by his hands. But before he could ask for forgiveness, one final huge wave knocked him off of his ship, and he was out cold. A hermit saw the ship from the shore, and when a rescued him from the depths of the sea. Once the captain awoke, he ask what happened and the hermit told. He comes to his senses and gets down and asks for forgiveness.(830-834) The conclusion that I have came to realize that without those events happening to him, he might have never found his true calling. These actions helped build the old mariner, which led him to the wedding, to teach about forgiveness, and morals. Without the work of mother nature he would have never realise the true beauty, and gratitude that mother nature forced upon
