Even if the system in this country is flawless and everything is in it’s place and most everyone is happy, there will still be the unhappy people. They will bring propaganda back to make people agree with them and see things how they see them. In comparison to Nazi propaganda, the propaganda currently isn’t as powerful. Leading up to the Holocaust and during it as well, the Nazis were promoting their ideals and many people were doing what the propaganda was promoting, though it was out of fear of the one behind the propaganda. In the US people were putting up things that went against what the Nazis were doing, and people agreed and did what was promoted due to their beliefs. The Nazis portrayed what they were doing as good and pure, and so the people thought it was true, some people thought it was wrong but for others the ideas were so firmly implanted in their minds that they believed. The US portrays it oppositely, they said that what the Nazis were doing was wrong and they should be stopped, so people believed accordingly. The fear isn’t as strong in this approach, and opposed to it being more of a fear the punishment of death type fear, it’s more of a. ‘This candidate is going to do this and this and it will turn out doing this to your children!’ fear. People instead of being genuinely scared due to threats, they are scared of what could happen if this thing became a thing or if they took this action. Sympathy definitely is a common one, and it’s usually through discrete methods that this is used, showing a picture of a sad puppy being happy after getting dog food, or sympathising with mothers to take care of their babies are types of approaches often seen. Sometimes they will be more upfront though it’s usually hidden in some secret message that you don’t pick up on until you are already starting to agree, and by that point you’ve been persuaded and can’t easily see it from another point of view.
