Plessy vs Ferguson shows the issues of segregation and its impact on society, as well as how that is translated into the effects seen in the economy. Lochner vs Ferguson is a case that revolves around labor laws and restrictions that violate the Constitution and how they affect the economy as well as social relations. We see from this ruling that segregation was accepted in the court of law, leading to new laws in states allowing this division. This separation also made any possible opportunities in Black American lives nearly impossible. Lack of opportunity shows a clear line in the division of race and how White superiority is increasingly prominent. Lower wages and lack of accommodations in the workplace show the economic struggles that were faced as a result of this ruling. We don't see the removal of these oppositions until the mid-20th century.
