Because Oxfam is helping Haiti change a few things, Haiti will not be so resilient to climate change and will be able to get their agriculture back. Another project that contributes to Oxfam’s success has to deal with gender equality. Gender equality is one of Oxfam’s main beliefs for their organization, “ . . . transform gender power relations and norms, through campaigning, programming, advocacy, research to facilitate women's articulation of their own voice and agendas . . .” (Gender Justice). This one belief has created many successes for Oxfam as a whole. A few examples are “Anti-violence campaign”, “Water programs”, “Resource rights”, and “Arms Trade Treaty”. The “Anti-violence campaign” focused on the violence towards women in El Salvador. Oxfam was able to develop “a Program to Prevent Gender Based Violence.” (Gender Justice). This program involved men, women, children, and six other organizations. It created teaching and training programs, media and arts campaigns, and networks, which raised awareness and allowed change to happen in policies and practices (Gender Justice). It is shown that the countries that have the most natural resources are those who are living in poverty (Resource Rights). To me, this is unfair and needs to be addressed as an issue.
