“A life is not important except in the impact it has on others lives.” Jackie Robinson, one of the most popular people to change black history and their freedom as we know it. From an early age, the Robinson's felt immediate discrimination, for they were the only black family in the neighborhood. (“Jackie Robinson”, Middle school-Gale in context) Jackie was born on January 31, 1919, in Cairo, Georgia. But, he spent his childhood and early life in Pasadena, California. (“Jackie Robinson”, Britannica school) He demonstrated an exceptional amount of athleticism playing baseball, football, basketball, and track. He was exceptional in all of them. He won awards and his stats were off the charts. “Robinson was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) and had a batting average of.349 in the 1946 season. The Royals won the pennant, or league championship, that season”(“Jackie Robinson”-- gale in context). Jackie Robinson won a bunch of awards and trophies during his career. The MVP is the hardest award to win, he was the best in the league, The average batting average at the time was.256! He was an excellent player and deserved everything he won. Another example of an accomplishment is, “After graduation, he attended the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), where he continued to play all four sports. He was one of the best players in all the sports. In track, he won the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) long-jump title.”(“Jackie Robinson”-- gale in context.) Jackie Robinson is, without a doubt, one of the most athletic students to ever attend UCLA. He excelled in baseball, basketball, football, and track.
