Surrounding the ad is a quote saying,”you and your grill deserve the best.” As well as text stating,”Hand selected, corn-fed and high-quality meat. That’s what you get when you shop the best beef at Hy-vee.” This ad used the propaganda techniques of card stacking, pathos, ethos, authority, and plain folks. The techniques state a variety of good qualities in the second text without it showing or saying anything about any of the bad qualities. Since Hy-vee is a well-known and trusted company, people are able to trust them and assume the meat is good. These propaganda techniques are used in many different ways like how it relates people to the people in the ad seeing they are normal people in their house wearing pj’s just like us. The ad uses little text, no facts, and little speaking, giving little knowledge about the product other than what they see. They only show you good aspects like her facial expressions enjoying every bite, making the food aesthetically pleasing, and both of them wanting it. Lastly, the music enhances all of these emotions with its dramaticness, making it an effective commercial. Beef-Prime reserve and choice reserve meat from hyvee could be made more effective. This is a great ad, but it's nothing special. This ad sits in a magazine next to hundreds of other ads, making it something most people would skip over without taking a further look. This ad needs something crazy or outstanding so that when a reader is flipping the pages, they stop looking. If I were to add or redo this ad I would keep the quotes and the grill as it is, but I would add a dog stealing a burger off the grill or off a
