Since human are social animals in modern society, they can’t isolated from other people. While we are playing in the game of life, each member should following the same and certain rules to participate in this game as rest part of the society. Morality, as the behavior code, maintains human collective interests and conducts people in proper behavior. Acting morally is a manifestation of social responsibility. Morality teaches us how to act and treat other people, for example, people should concern about the collective interest as they treat their own benefits. Acting morally gains benefit for people, as Hospers declares, “It pays to be helpful to others because when you need help, it is much more like that will help you in turn.” (Hospers 20)In other words, the moral behavior applies the Golden Rule that treats other as the way you want to be treated. In this case, you can still be moral even without believing in God or any other religions, as you take care of other’s feeling as your own. Under the morality aspect of society, what people consider most is the common interest rather than the good for a person only. Nevertheless, only under such circumstances, the existence of society makes sense. We may born with morality, but we should learn it through the life experience and keep in that manner in order to be moral, just as Irwin translated Aristotle’s word, “Someone who is to be good must be finely brought up and habituated, and then must live in decent practices, doing base actions neither willingly nor unwillingly.
