She can do normal activities just like us. I think that this video broke many of the social constructs that we as a society have made about people with disabilities, especially Autism in this case. Sue had an IQ of 133 and is a junior in college. She wrote this movie, a book, and gave a presentation at a university. She does things that I’m unsure I’ll ever do. As time has gone one she had to fight her Autism less, that fight that she had before is going away and she is seeing her potential unlike those who called her “very Autistic” or “retarded.” She over these social constructs and showed everyone how much she can accomplished. She still may have to hold her spoons or play with water to calm her or have a support person with her to help her with shopping, school, etc. but she is independent in her own thinking, writing, and doing some daily tasks. I think as a society we sometimes down talk those with Autism and assume that they do not know anything because they cannot talk or have odd ticks. Sue’s story proves all of those wrong. I think it is awesome that he made this video and she did achieve her goal of having people understand her and the world of Autism
