Ariyana Fayier-Personal Narrative

Improved Essays
There was once an individual, young of body, old of soul, and not-quite-human, despite how she may appear. She was, In fact, a Druid, a sorceress of days olde and knew of the last of her kind. She walked the world on her own, distant from all; for what can one lose if they have nothing to begin with? This was a mantra she repeated to herself across the centuries, for this seemingly young woman was anything but. An immortal she was just shy of 1500 years of age, her birthing falling in late autumn, and yet she hardly looked a day over 21. Gifted or doomed with eternal youth, her days were endless and lonely.

Due perhaps to her immortality, or maybe just her kindly nature, there were few didn't know her name. Ariyana Fayeir; the mysterious

A deep sort of sadness that does not fade with time, only grows stronger and more agonizing. There were times when you would see it in her eyes, a sorrow out of place on such a young, carefree face. It was a misery of loneliness and guilt, one that weighed ever heavy on her heart. Millennia ago, when Ariyana was truly just a young girl, radiant and at peace she lived with her family, loving parents, and two mischievous little siblings. Deep within the forests of Europe, before man had gone and ripped them apart, they lived with their Druid Sept, already one of the few remaining post Arthurian times. Yet they were content, living in harmony with the nature around them, until that fateful day. She was only twenty one years of age, a child in the eyes of Druid with their century long life span. Nevertheless she was chosen. After the untimely death of the last Guardian months prior, it had only been a matter of time before another was chosen, and at last on the eve of her birthday the stars had aligned, naming her the next Guardian of the sept. Doomed to live on until struck down in battle, her position was an honoured, yet lonely one. Upset by the choice, she had fled, off into the forest she ran until her lungs burned and her legs could no longer hold her weight. There she collapsed to the forest floor and cried, pleading with the gods to change their minds, however all she was rewarded with in turn was

It was a dark and bleak December, still or again, no one could tell. The only light in a small chamber was the slowly dying fire in the fireplace. People with terrible countenances stared from fading paintings on the walls covered in thick layer of dust. There was a strange feeling of emptiness in the room – no smells or sounds, everything seemed lifeless. Even deep winter seemed numb.…

In "Hey! Parents, Leave Those Kids Alone. “Hana Rosin shares her views on the overprotective behaviour of parents towards their children and its effects on the development of the kids. The author starts by explaining about old age adventure playgrounds and their significance in making a child aware of the risks and dangers involved while doing any fun task independently. She emphasises on the thought by giving views of a landscape architect, according to which, playgrounds should be designed in such a way “that kids could move around and manipulate to create their own makeshift structures.” (Rosin, 77).…

Normally, it was not unlike Kolda to rise before a human had any right to, on the cusp of an ink-blotted morning, when the trees were still working tirelessly to shake the vestiges of dew from their waxy-leaves. When, on the horizon, a burnt orange ribbon lined its lip, radiating waves of indigo and cobalt and casting the world beneath it in an eerie, complacent glow. A creamy fog would trickle across the hyssop field from border of Sylph Grove, a merciful cover to nature’s cities beneath, blotting the cotton-hued blanket with splotches of bold lavender. The fog brought the smell of the mountains with it, mating with the wooden and charcoal scents of her home, to wrest her from her dreams. She would obey, rising seamlessly, donning her fur-lined…

The day that I will always be able to remember the exact details, despite the shudder that would come from recalling it. I had had a pretty basic life up to now. I had an older brother in college and two parents who had taken me to church every Sunday since I was a little girl; despite the fact that my father and the rest of my family were Jewish.…

This is again illustrated with the direct speech ‘love of a savage girl is not much better than the love of a noblewoman’ (36) as it indicates she is easily replaceable and interchangeable with other women and Pechorin is never truly satisfied with what he has. The pre-modifying adjectives ‘savage’ and ‘wild’ (23) accentuate the prejudice against Circassian women and is extremely demeaning. The reader can clearly see the lack of respect Pechorin has for Bela and her…

Although bile rose in her throat, Raine swallowed and forced herself to breath shallow as her eyes linked with the man who had spoken, the odor of decaying fish breath permeating the air around him. A faded, red bandanna was wrapped around his head where slippery, seaweed-like hair peeked out from beneath. Intense frown lines cut through his darkly tanned features that were speckled by colossal black pores. Brownish teeth, some missing, were visible behind his dry, cracked lips and little gray needles made up a sparse beard over his leathery skin. Worn and beaten attire covered his gangling frame and in her peripheral vision she could see he was barefoot, though she dared not look down.…

Arivis the Tarkeena Arivis, as you all must know, is the daughter of a very rich Calorman lord and she considers herself a high bred superior Tarkeena/Princess along with some other purely imaginative titles which I will whole heartedly NOT care to mention. The young girl mysteriously considers herself far above the above average stasis and to give her individuality a considerably “AVERAGE” glance, I would assume that she was a penniless, disowned, fat headed beggar off the street, whom occasionally starts to engage into unintelligent dialogue with her horse. (It’s weird, right?) Avrivis’s “pride” so to say, is pampered and caressed only now more so than ever when she is given no choice but to travel across the countryside…
