America’s society has developed and shaped itself into a diverse country in terms of race and social class. My bus trip in my hometown of Pasadena, CA proved to be no different as I rode through a variety of areas, such as wealthy, middle-class, and low-income neighborhoods. When I first began my trip walking towards the bus stop near my home, I found that it was directly in front of a very small Christian church. Although the church was closed at the time, I have always seen it filled at least once a week with Hispanic Christians from the neighborhood. While I was waiting for the bus, there was another Christian church half a block away that was having a fundraiser, which was mostly comprised of African Americans. Before even hopping on the bus had I noticed how much the church influences my community and how many of us see religion as absolute and required parts of our lives. On my bus ride, I had also noticed a few cars that had some variation of the ichthus, which is a Christian symbol shown to the right and there was a Hispanic male sitting on the bus who had a cross tattooed on his arm. The last piece of evidence I collected was when I was coming up one of Pasadena’s busiest streets Lake Avenue where I noticed that Lake Avenue Church had a huge Christian cross, which is shown to the right. It seemed as though the church wanted to proudly assert their faith not only to the community but also everyone driving on the 210 freeway since the cross was cleverly placed right in front of it. Many of Americans have strong faiths in Christianity or Catholicism or some other smaller branch of the two, which became apparent after passing at least a dozen different churches in the Pasadena area
