Outline WMM
CENTRAL EXECUTIVE: Key component and supervises and coordinates information to and from the two slave systems. Very limited in capacity + can process information from any modality

PHONOLOGICAL LOOP: subdivided into phonological store (inner ear) and the articulory loop (inner voice). Limited in capacity and stores spoken information.

VISUO SPATIAL SKETCHPAD: subdivided into the visual cache and the inner scribe. Limited in capacity and temporarily stores visual information
Evaluate WMM
STRENGTHS: can explain how we do more thatn one task simulatenously e.g reading aloud whilst visually tracking an object. (Baddeley dual task)

KF provides support for WMM. He had a very impaired digit span but could process info into his STM. This shows that visual and verbal info have two seperate stores i.e slaves.

WEAKNESSES: Role of the central executive -->most important component but least well researched. Baddeley agrees that it's difficult to research
We don't fully understand how it supervises + coordinates the slave systems
