Locarno treaty |
Signed in 1925, renounced the use of war in the future. Germany lost nothing by signing this treaty despite protests from the right wing groups who condemned the treaty. It marked a new beginning in European relations for the first time since the war Germany was treated as an equal and there was a new spirit of reconciliation in the air. |

The young plan |
The young plan followed the earlier works of the Dawes plan and set out to revise the reparations issue. The young plan reduced the final reparations figure from 123000 million marks to 37000 million marks with an arrangement it be paid in annual instalments to the year 1988. Although reparations were cancelled altogether in 1929 during the Great Depression. |
