P. falciparum resideswithin the salivary glandofthe mosquito -sporozoite stage mosquitotakes its blood meal, it injects a small amount of saliva into the skin wound - antihemostaticand anti-inflammatory Blood Sporozoite enter liver cells Merozoites released from liver cells - enter rbc and reproduce - burst rbcs. Merozoites produce gametocytes - taken up by a biting mosquito gametocytes produce gametes - form diploid zygote. Divides in gut, produces haploid sporozoites. |
