vitamin A deficiency
night blindness, rash, dry eyes, increased infection. vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin

teratogenic (be careful in pregnancy! - isotretinoin taken for acne is a vitamin A analog), thick bones, pseudotumor cerebri

results in scurvy: hemorrhages, skin petechiae, bone issues, gum issues, loose teeth, gingivitis, pour wound healing, bone pain (due to periosteal hemorrhage). pt on tea and toast or hot dog and soda diet that presents with bleeding gums and bone pain.
Vitamin D deficiency
rickets, osteomalacia, hypocalcemia. vit D aids absorption of Ca from gut. Fat soluble vitamin

hypercalcemia, nausea, renal issues

Anemia, peripheral neuropathy, ataxia. fat soluble vitamin

bleeding, increased PT (Extrinsic). fat soluble vitamin. vit K is given to all newborns to prevent hemorrhagic dz. needed for synthesis of clotting factors 2, 7, 9, 10, C, S. may see vit K deficiency with abx that kill normal GI flora that synthesize vit K.
Vit K intoxication
hemolysis, leading to kernicterus (I'm guessing in the newborn?)
Vit B1 deficiency
thiamine. may see wet beri beri, which is high out put cardiac failure. may also see dry beri beri, which is peripheral neuropathy. may also see wernicke and or korsakoff syndromes. commonly seen in alcoholics
Vit b2 deficiency
riboflavin. cheilosis, angular stomatitis, dermatitis
Vit B3 deficiency.
dermatitis, dementia, diarrhea. also stomatitis.

pyridoxine. peripheral neuropathy, cheilosis, stomatitis, convulsions (infant), microcytic anemia, seborrheid dermatitis.

cobalamin. megaloblastic anemia and neurologic sx. common cause is pernicious anemia (antiparietal cell antibodies, so parietal cells can't secrete IF). associ with other autoimmune conditions, schilling test will dx cause.

megaloblastic anemia without neurologic sx

microcytic anemia, koilonychia
