Internal jugular

The savane is extremely important to the venous system, it supplies all the blood from the brain and deep areas of the face and neck.

Saphenous veins

These veins are the superficial veins of the lower extremities.

Brachiocephalic

This is where the subclavian and internal jugular veins come together. There are two of these and the merge together to form the superior vena cava

Diploic

These comprise the veins of the skull.


There are several diploic veins;


Frontal diploic veins


Occipital diploic vein


Anterior temporal diploic vein


External jugular

The blood from the top of the head, part of the face and the superficial neck region drain into this vein

Supratrochlear

Two veins being high in the forehead and descend to the root of the nose.

Retromandibular

This vein is formed in the parotid gland.

Basilic

A major superficial vein of the upper extremity. It passes on the ulnar side of the arm.

Cephalic

The other main superficial vein of the arm

Median cubital

This vein is a large branch of the cephalic vein that goes over the cubital fossa and joins with the basilic vein

Azygos

This vein extends superiorly along the abdominal and thoracic walls on the right side of the vertebral column.

Hemiazygos

Is a tributary of the azygos vein

Median antebrachial

This vein arises from the palmer vein plexus and passes up the forearm.
