Briefly Explain the Middle Passage.
|
The Middle Passage was the stage of the triangular trade in which millions of Africans were shipped to the New World as part of the Atlantic slave trade. Ships departed Europe for African markets with manufactured goods, which were traded for purchased or kidnapped Africans, who were transported across the Atlantic as slaves; the slaves were then sold or traded for raw materials, which would be transported back to Europe to complete the voyage. Voyages on the Middle Passage were large financial undertakings, generally organized by companies or groups of investors rather than individuals.

The Middle Passage was an important part of the Trade which allowed the Americas to colonize and prosper. Without the forced labor and the cultivation of the abundance or resources which the Americas possessed, colonization would have taken much longer, and we would probably not have ended up in the modern Americas

NY and NJ was ran by Lt. Gov. Francis Nicholson fled NY after he found out king James II was removed as King. Jacob Leisler would step up and rule for two years. During his two years, he improved the legislature and reformed the courts. The landowners and merchants were effect and got him tried for treason. When order was restored to England.

It was the end of absolute monarchy and established and established constitutional monarchy in England. This war would impact the colonies creating a domino effect. It would even lead to Leislers rebellion causing the death of an innocent man named Jacob Leisler in 1691 which led to more people getting politically involved. |
