What are the three diagnostic criteria for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?
1. Re experiencing the Trauma. ( flashbacks, nightmares)

2. avoidance ( physical avoidance, amnesia, emotional numbing.)

3. over-arousal - insomnia, concentration difficulties, hyper vigilance, exaggerated startle response.
Acute stress disorder
a variant of PTSD , but last for only a month - with smaller symptoms and briefer time course.
