The Call
hero feels dissatisfied with life as he/she is living it and experiences desire to find The Treasure that will make life worth living.
The Quest (The Perilous Journey)
journey of struggles the hero must endure and obstacles he/she must overcome to attain the Treasure which will solve the problems experienced in the Call.
The Helpers
those involved with the hero who have a stake in his/her success or failure.
The Others
characters or figures who represent the hidden or unexpressed side of the hero's personality with whom the hero must encounter and resolve conflict.
The Treasure
the "thing" for which the hero has been searching which provides the solution to the problems experienced in The Call.
The Return
involves the heroic act of bringing the rewards (The Treasure) of his labor back to his/her people; this is the biggest demonstration that heroism is not for self.
The Transformation
renewal of the hero's world/community to the extent that the problems of The Call are removed as a result of the hero's actions.
