  • 3rd side (hint)

Age norms

Norms specifically designed to compare test takers score with those of same age peers

Alternate forms reliability

An estimate of the extent to which items sampling and other errors have affected scores on 2 versions of the same test contrast with parallel forms reliability

Bimodial distribution

A distribution in which the central tendency consists of 2 scores occurring, in an equal number of times that are the most frequently occurring scores in a distribution

Predictive validity

An index of the degree to which a test score predicts some criterion or outcome measure in the future. tests are evaluated as to their predictive validity

Confidence interval

Confidence intervals range or band of test scores that is likely to contain the true score

Control group

In an experiment the untreated group

Correlation

An expression of the degree and direction of correspondence between two thing

Cut score

Also called cut off score a reference point derived as a result of judgment and used to divide a set of data into 2 or more classifications with some action to be taken or some inference to be made on the basis of these classifications page 9

Ethics

Principles of right, proper or good conduct

False negative

It is a specific type of miscaracterized by a tool of assessment indicating that the test taker does not possess or Exhibit A particular trait ability behavior or ultra beauty when in fact the test taker does possess or exhibit this trait ability to behave your attribute

False positive

Is an error in measurement characterized by a tool of assessment indicating that the test taker possesses or exhibits a particular trait ability behavior or attribute when in fact the test taker does not

Fluid intelligence

Non verbal abilities that are relatively less dependent on culture informal instruction contrast with crystallized intelligence

Grade norms

Norms specifically designed to compare scores with peers in same grade or yr

Histogram

Graph with vertical lines drawn at the true limits of each test score

Inter-item consistency

The consistency or homogeneity of test

Interval scales

A system of Maureen in which all things measured can be ranked into equal intervals, no absolute zero

Mean

A measurement of central tendency derived by cascading an abbeys of all scores in distribution

Measure of central tendency

Middle most score between the extreme scores in a distribution

Mean, Madigan(ordinal) and mode (nominal)

Normal curve

Bell shape smooth tapering on sides never zero

Predictive validity

A criterion related validity that is index of degree to which a test score predicted some criterion measure

Range

A descriptive statistic of variability derived by calculating the difference between the highest and lowest

Skewness

An indication of the nature and extent to which symmetry is absent in distribution skewed positively when few fall in positive and vise versa

Split half reliability

An estimate of the internal consistency by correlating two pairs if scores obtained from equal halfs admin once

Standard deviation

A measurement of variability equal to square root of variance

Standard error measurement

Statistics designed to estimate the extent to which an observed scoredeviates from true score

Standard score

A Raw score that had been converted from one scale into anther, ex z score s and t

Test-retest reliability

An estimate of reliability obtained by correlating pairs of scores from same people on different times

T-score

Standard score calculation using scale with a mean set at 50 and standard deviation set at 10

Z- score

Standard score derived by calculating differences between particular raw scores and the mean then dividing by standard deviation, express scores in terms of the number of standard deviation that raw score is above or below mean
