Stands for Post Office Protocol. An email protocol for incoming servers. POP is used to RECEIVE emails. Normally uses 110 for public and port 995 for secure. |

Instant Message Access Protocol. It's also for incoming mail downloads, but it has more features than POP. IMAP is designed to let users keep their email on the server, but requires more disk space and CPU resources.
