Norming

mutual plan and work toward the success of the project goal

Performing

Highly functioning teams operate at this stage. The group functions as a unit to accomplish its tasks

Adjourning

task is completed and the team is dissolved

Competing

Individual is selfish in pursuing his/her own concerns at the expense of others; the person wants to win

Accommodating

Opposite of competing; individual completely ignores his/her own concern to satisfy the concerns of the other individuals

Avoiding

Person is neutral; neither pursues his/her own concerns or those of the other individuals in order to avoid conflict

Collaborating

Person attempts to work and cooperate with others to reach a solution that everyone agrees upon

Compromising

Individual’s goal is to reach a solution as quickly as possible that may be accepted by others, but only partially fulfills the concerns of the group
