Hazards Ratio (HR): what does this ratio tell you

Hazards ratio = the ratio of an event rate occuring in the treatment group compared to the event rate occuring in the non-treatment group
HR < 1 indicates that the treatment group had a significantly lower event rate than the group that did not get the treatment HR < 1 indicate that the treatment group had a much higher event rate |
