Why did I choose this article?

The student is not verbal an will only speak to the teacher and paraprofessional. I feel that if I as a teacher gave students the supports they need along with social stories, then students diagnosed with autism can begin the process of being sociable and understanding the feelings of others.

Synopsis

In the study, a special education teacher is using social stories to teach her children appropriate play with peers, making activity choices, and play appropriately with materials that the teacher provides.

Synopsis

Holly was able to play appropriately with peers and placed in a general education classroom because ofher growth.

Synopsis

Aaron was able to increase his play time and ability to play at the center appropriately, but thereis no evidence that includes whether he was place in a general educationclassroom.

This casestudy gives newevidenceon how useful social stories may help students with severeautism.
