It started when a fist fight broke out between a blackman and a white man ate Belle Isle Amusement Park in the Detroit River. Mostbuildings were burned in black neighborhoods. So much violence between whitesand blacks. It violence ended after President Franklin Roosevelt requestedDetroit Mayor Edward Jeffries Jr ordered six thousands federal troops into thecity. Twenty-five blacks and nine whites were killed by violence. SeventeenAfrican Americans were killed by the police. The nine whites were not killed bythe police. City suffered two million in property damages.

Whatoccurred in Los Angeles in 1943?

In Los Angeles, California they were series ofracial attacks called the Zoot Suit Riots. It was between Mexican Americanyouths and European American servicemen stationed in Southern California. TheZoot Suit Riots were named from the high-waisted wool trousers and baggy,long-tailed suit coats. Started early June and it was bunch of bloody streetbrawls between the zoot-suiters and white soldiers. A lot of U.S. servicementook to the streets in taxicabs and attacked Latinos while stripping them oftheir suits. Thousands more joined after the next few days and some that werenot even in the zoot suits got attacked. It stopped June 8th and LosAngeles City Council put a ban on zoot suits. No one was killed during thislong riot.
