Nicolas II
Family that ruled Russia for nearly 3 centuries
Romanov Dynasty
This man was poisoned, shot multiple times, and survived. He also helped the Czar with his son, Alexis.
Rasputin
A peasant who is bound to land and owes labor to the noble who owns the land. They can buy their freedom if they have money
Serf
A system where land is granted to nobles by the monarch in exchange for loyalty and military service.
Feudalism
These people give peasants a strip of land to work. The government gives land to them, but no one owns the land.
Commune
Crises created by massive public protests. Movement was disorganized and crushed by the Czar.
Revolution of 1905
The workers marched over to the Czar to demand better working conditions. Czar kills 500-1000 people as a result of this.
Bloody Sunday
Conflict between Russia and Japan. They fought for Korea. Japan won the war. This was the first war Asia won against Europe

A pointless war that many people were not in support of. Troops were ill prepared to fight.
