Why do we breathe?

Cuz we need oxygen. For enenrgy and stuff.

Diaphgram and rib muscles contract & relax to move air into and out of the lungs.

While doing inhalation,

Chest volume increases & the air pressure is low.


(Exhalation is the opposite of this)

It's where the gases are exchanging.oxygen in air goes to the blood.

Pharynx & epiglottis

Pharynx is a long tube behind the nasal cavity and under it there's epiglhottis which is like two doors. One for air & one for food and drinks.

Larynx

Also called 'voice box'. Air passes across the thin tissues & produces sound.

Trachea is a long tube where it divides into the right & left bronchi. To the lungs ←→

It's a sheet ov muscle that is underthe rib cage. It helps while respirating.

Aorta

The large artery that recieves blood directly from the heart. Oxygen-rich blood is pumped throught it.

Capillaries

The smallest type of vessel. O2-rich blood travels to the smaller arteries and then capillaries.

The oxygen molecules;

Move by diffusion, out of the capillaries into the body cells.


While it's happening, C2O does the opposite.

ATP

A type of molecule that xarries extra energy.
