Mesothelioma |
Tumor of Pleura due to occupational exposure of asbestos Presentation: Chest pain, Shortness of breath, weight loss +/- Metastasis (lymhadenopathy, hepatomegaly, bone pain, abd pain) Inv: CXR or CT scan reveals pleural thickening or effusion. Dx by histology of pleural fluid, pleural biopsy and pleurodesis. Usually post mortem Rx: Surgery and radiotherapy Note: consult Coroner in case of "unnatural death" and he will give the final verdict and issue death certificate |
