What is sexual reproduction?

Where genetic information from two organisms is combined to produce genetically different offspring.

What are gametes?

These are Sex cells such as sperm and egg cells. They are vital for sexual reproduction.

23 ( half the amount of a normal cell)

What is fertilisation?

When the two sex cells fuse together and form

What is Asexual reproduction?

Reproduction that only requires one parent and produces genetically identical offspring to itself. For example the dividing of cells.

How does Asexual reproduction work?

The cell has x shaped chromosomes that have two identical halves.




Each chromosome splits in half forming two identical sets of half chromosomes.



The DNA replicates itself to form two identical cells with complete sets of chromosomes.
