pager sent college men with identical qualifications to 350 job interviews. one said he had served an 18-month prison sentence for cocaine possession. Two teams were black, two white. Callback rate was 5% for blacks if they had a criminal record, and 14% if they did not. For whites, 17% with a criminal record and 34% without. |
