Abnormal lordosis can be tested for by the supine Thomas test, and can be caused by tight hip flexors

Scoliosis

Lateral curvature of the spine.


Can be tested for by a forward flexion test

Forward Head & Rounded shoulders

Postural deformity caused by tight pectoralis minor. Causes the cervical spine to straighten

Scapular Winging

Shoulder blade separates from scapulothoracic articulation "joint". Caused by a weak Serratus Anterior or damage to the long thoracic nerve

Dowager's Hump

Compression of thoracic vertebrae due to osteoporosis leads to forward bending of the spine and creates a hump at the upper back
