Intelligence

the ability to learn from experience and adapt to the
environment. An example of intelligence would be being able to learn a new skill. |

knowledge or perception of a situation or fact. This was need for Wechsler to decide if that behavior was intelligent. An example of awearness is that I am aware that I am typing now.

Weschler
|
Weschler broke intelligence into four aspects. He believed intelligence was different at different ages so he made different tests for different age groups. He believed in a general IQ score. One of Weschler tests was the WAIS, Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale

Gardener
|
Gardener believed that people had 8 different types of intelligence, along with 2 other possible intelligence that not everybody possess. He believed some people could be very strong in some areas, and weaker in others. For example I have strong logic, maths and weaker verbal, linguistics.

Spatial/visual
|
the ability to present the spatial world internally in your mind. An example of using spatial intelligence would be parking a large car.

Emotional intelligence
|
relating to a person's emotions. It is related to intelligence through some types of intelligences such as intrapersonal or interpersonal. It is the ability recognise the meaning and emotions of their relationships.

practical
|
Practical thinking is to comprehend or to know. Knowing how many stairs in the Eiffel tower would be practical thinking.

general ability
|
The normal ability for a person to solve problems and do tasks. The higher the general ability, the better they can achieve harder tasks

goal directed
|
goal directed behavior is need for it to be considered intelligent behavior. Goal directed behavior means it has purpose. A baby crawling for the cookie jar to eat a cookie is an example.

verbal ability
|
Verbal ability is the cognitive ability to use and understand language. The ability may be thought of as having to do with verbal comprehension. The ability to make a sentence that makes sense.

linguistics
|
The capacity to use language to express whats on your mind and to understand. Talking to a mate is an example of this.

bodily kinaesthetics
|
Capacity to uses your body to do tasks or solve a problem. Running on uneven ground is an example.

Sternberg
|
Sternberg described intelligence with his triarchical theory of thinking, Critical thinking, creative thinking and practical thinking. He believed that these intelligences worked together. People would use practical and creative to fix a bridge.

WAIS
|
Stands for the Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale. It is used to get an IQ score. It must be administered by a qualified professional.

Alfred Binet
|
Binet suggested the concept of a mental age, or a measure of intelligence based on the ability and there age.

Rational
|
based on or in accordance with reason or logic, I'm sure there's a perfectly rational explanation is an example

Non verbal ability
|
It is the ability to solve problems and do tasks with out using linguistics.

|
The ability to think in music and identify music and hear patterns and identify them. For example I cant identify the difference between instruments.

intrapersonal
|
Having an understanding of yourself and who you are and what you can do. For example i know i cant do flips

analytical
|
Analytical skill is the ability to visualize, articulate, and solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts. It is critical thinking as described by Sternberg triarchical theory.

WISC
|
Stands for Wechsler intelligence scale for children.It is used to get an IQ score. It must be administered by a qualified professional.

Intelligence Quotient
|
intelligence quotient (IQ) standardised score for an individual’s intelligence as measured by a specific intelligence test. IQ scores are based on how much an individual’s test score deviates from the mean score for the standardisation group. An IQ score of 130 is very high while one of 90 is quite low.

The ability to understand other people. The ability to see someone is sad is interpersonal intelligence

|
Described by gardener as the skill to evaluate. He said it was used to analyse if used in conjunction with practical thinking. An example of creative thinking would be to deal with new situations.
