- infantile autism: lack of responsiveness, language abnormalities or absence, resistance to change or attachment to objects, the absence of schizophrenic features, onset before 30months.

Wing & Gould (1979) identified a triad of impairments. What were they?

Impairments in:


1. reciprocal social interaction.


2. communication.


3. imagination, resulting in a narrow, repetitive pattern of activities.

- Aloof, passive, active but odd.

What is the big difference between the DSM-V and previous DSM's?

Aspergers, Autistic disorder, childhood disintegrative disorder and PDD are no longer separate disorders. It is now Autism Spectrum Disorder.
