A. Cut-In and Cut-Out Tests: Air Compressor |
Verb, “I am going to start with “Cut-In” test. The air compressor Cut-In should be no less than 85 PSI. Then I am going to look for my “Cut-Out”. The normal range for my “Cut-Out” is between 110 and 130 PSI, but not to exceed 140 PSI. |
1. The Air Gage MUST be at cut out before you start the test. 2. Push the service brake pedal to the floor, the release and count 7 seconds as follows: “One-One thousand, Two-One thousand, etc (Verbalize the counting.) 3. Observe the air gage for “positive movement. 5. Once positive movement has been achieved, verbalize, “My Cut-In is at _______PSI.” 6. Turn on the “Fast Idle” switch and continue to watch the gauge needle until positive movement has stopped. 7.VERBALIZE “My Cut-Out is _____ PSI.” 8. Turn off the “Fast Idle” switch. |

B. Low Air Pressure and Spring Brake Pop-Up Tests |
Verbalize, “I am now going to test for my Low Air Pressure Waring Alerts and Spring Brake Pop-Up. For my Low-Air Warning Test, I should have a warning light come on and alarm/buzzer must activate between 55 and 75 PSI. For my Spring Brake Test, my PARKING BRAKE SHOULD POP UP BETWEEN 20 and 45 PSI.” |

Brake Tests |
1.Parking Brake Test a. With the engine running, apply the Service Brake and hold b. Place the transmission in “Drive.” c. Release the Service Brake, bus should not move 2. Interlock Test a. Apply pressure to the Service Brake. b. Release the Parking Brake c. Verify the transmission is in “Drive.” d. Open the rear door. Verify the “Green” “Inter-lock indicator” is illuminated. r.Slowly release pressure from the Service. The bus should not move, and the Accelerator pedal should be disengaged. 3. Rolling Stop Test a.Re-apply pressure to the Service Brake. b. Move the Door Lever back to the center “Both Doors Closed” position. c. Verify the Parking Brake is released, and the transmission is in “Drive” and the ABS light isn’t on. d. Slowly release pressure on the Service Brake and allow the bus to move forward 3-5 mph. e. Firmly apply pressure to the Service Brake. f. The Bus should not pull Left or Right and come to a complete stop. |

Look under the rear of bus and verify that there are no hanging wires or leaks Ask examiner if they would like you to demonstrate the operation of the reverse lights. If yes, proceed to driver’s seat. Press the left n right turn signal buttons at the same time, activate test of the reverse lights and back up warning device. Once initiated it will shut off automatically (approximately two minutes) |
