Yes.With the gun pointed safely, the hammer is first cocked. cocking the hammer advances the cylinder to the next chamber.
Is there a noticeable difference between single and double action trigger feel?
Yes. In double, the trigger feel is long and heavy usually around 8-15 lbs.
In single, the trigger releases after a very short pull. 2-3 lbs is usally the required psi force.
What must be done to decock a revolver?
1. Put trigger finger outside of trigger guard.
2. Place support hand thumb between hammer and frame, pull the trigger.
3. Ease the ammer forward until it touches the support hand thumb.
4. Ease the ammer the rest of the way slowly, always making sure that the gun is pointed safely.
