Photosynthesis

Carried out by green plants & green algae in which energy is trapped by a green pigment ( chlorophyll) used to synthesize glucose. Chloroplasts allows organism to carry out photosynthesis

CO2 + sunlight + water forms glucose and Oxygen

Autotroph

Organism that is able to produce its own food

Cellular Respiration

Uses one of the end products glucose to produce ATP for cells. Used by heterotrophs

Heterotrophs

Organisms that cannot produce their own food

Process of cellular respiration

Glucose breaks down by process of glycolysis and transfer ATP in glucose to ATP. End products of glycolysis fed into Krebs cycle to produce more ATP. Glycolysis and Krebs cycle carries out cellular respiration and cells use the mitochondria to carry out tbis cycle.

During the process, oxygen is used up while h2o and CO2 forms. CO2 expels and can be used by autotrophs.
