an experiment conducted by Stanley Milgram which involved a test subject which was told to give an electric shock to someone every time they answer a question wrong. The person receiving the shock is an actor, but the subject doesn't know this. The test subject is told to make the shock stronger against their own morals. This test was done 3 months after Eichmann's trial to try and show that maybe Eichmann and the other Nazis were really just following orders

An experiment conducted by Phillip Zimbardo in which he tested the psychological effects of becoming a prisoner or prison guard. Even though all knew it was an experiment the guards psychologically tortured the prisoners and the prisoners took it. This can be compared to the sonder kommandos who were still going to die, but ultimately took on the roles of the Nazis
