Left Wing. Believes lots of government is essential. |

Life of man is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short. People are selfish / egotistic. Absolute control is the ONLY thing that will cause a peaceful society. Absolute control/ chaos. |

Power abuse is preferred over chaos. Laws are ONLY effective if enforced. Enforcing agency can only do it if there's absolute power. Natural rights / liberties Power of ruler is absolute, but people also have certain liberties. People can ALWAYS defend against sovereign. |

Humans are social Balance between selfish/selfless PRIVATE PROPERTY. Life is one group/person seeking power over others. Humans will maim/assault one another. Rich humans want more money, poor want more. |

No one ought to harm another's life, liberty, health, or possessions. |

What is Locke's Social Contract? |
Laws are societally agreed upon; not forced by govt. Govt w/o law = tyrannical. Main human right = own private property. No govt can justly take away private property. Private property is fruit of own labour and essentially part of the person. |

Politicians are appointed by people and is therefore responsible to them. Citizens don't have eye for an eye mentality, instead the government solves issues. |

Certain limits need to be imposed on ruler over citizens. Tyranny of majority stifles development of individualistic behaviour. |
