Sudden onset of convulsion, initially there is usually high fever, flush face, restlessness and agitation, secondarily there is spirit-will clouding and confusion, clamping shut of the teeth, upward staring, neck rigidity, arched back rigidity, trembling or quivering of four limbs, shortness of breath, slight yellow coating, floating rapid or wiry slippery pulse
