Therapeutic touch therapy uses a method called “laying on hands” to correct or balance energy fields, placing it in the energy therapy field of alternative medicine (Myers, C-9). However, the name is somewhat of a misnomer as the therapist never touches the client, instead the practitioner hovers their hands over the client’s body.
