How often should cervical cancer be screened?
Every year starting at first vaginal intercourse or at age 21
How often should prostate cancer be screened?
Regular screening is not supported
PSA blood test and digital rectal exam do not appear to decrease the likelyhood of prostate cancer death.
What is immunohistochemistry?
It uses antibodies to identify proteins made by cells or proteins attached to the cell surface. May help identify tissue of origin.
What is micro array technology?
Looks at the expression of genes of a persons individual cancer.
Both of these techniques may help you recognize how aggressive this tumor is.
