Biologic sex

Chromosomal sexual development (XY or XX, external and internal genitalia, secondary sex characteristics, and hormonal states).
Gender identity
The inner sense one has of being male or female, which may or may not be the same as biologic gender.
Gender role behavior
The behavior one conveys of being male or female.
Sexual orientation
The preferred gender of the partners of the individual. Includes heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual.
Heterosexual
A person who prefers sexual fulfillment with a member of the opposite gender.
Homosexual
A person who prefers sexual fulfillment with members of the same gender.
Bisexual
A person who finds pleasure with either gender.
Transsexual
A person of one biologic gender who feels as if he or she is a member of the opposite sex. Ex: A woman trapped in a man's body.
Transvestite
A person who chooses to dress as if he or she is a member of the opposite gender, using clothing, accessories, etc. Transvestites are usually heterosexual.

Three purposes for the vagina

Menstruation
A cycle during which the body prepares for the fertilization of the ovum.
Menarche
The first period, usually around 12 years of age, but can happen between 8 and 17 years of age.
Menopause
The cessation of a woman's menstrual activity, usually between ages 45-55.

Proliferation phase - The endometrium becomes thick and velvety in preparation for the fertilized ovum.

Luteal phase where the empty follicle fills up with yellow fluid which secretes hormones to help a fertilized egg to grow. It becomes the "Corpus Luteum".

Secretory phase - The endometrial lining thickens. In absence of a fertilized egg, the corpus luteum dies and the endometrial lining disintegrates and is shed, causing menses.

Sexual dysfunction
A problem that prevents an individual or couple from engaging in or enjoying sexual intercourse and orgasm.
Impotence
Male sexual dysfunction involving the inability to attain or sustain an erection to such an extent that he cannot have satisfactory intercourse.
Retarded ejaculation
A man's inability or delayed ability to ejaculate into a vagina.
Inhibited sexual desire
An inhibition in sexual arousal so that congestion and sexual lubrication are absent or minimal.
