What is the function of LH in males?

Acts at Leydig cells to stimulate synthesis and secretion of androgens.

What do androgens do?

Stimulate process of spermatogenesis and (secondary sexual characteristics)

What does FSH do in males?

Acts on Sertoli cells and stimulates secretion of factors helping spermatogenesis.

What is the acrosome of the sperm?

It is the cap like structure filled with enzymes which help with fertilization of the ovum.

What is the function of the accessory ducts?

Provide location for maturation and motility of sperms.


What is semen?

A mixture of sperms and seminal plasma.

What is seminal plasma?

Fluid region of sperm. Contains hormones and secretions from all glands +epididymis
