13 Cards in this Set

  • Front
  • Back
  • Lateral Antebrachial Cutenous Nerve, the continuation of the musculocutaneous n.
  • C5, C6, C7; Upper and middle trunk; lateral cord

  • Superior Lateral Cutaneous Nerve, a branch of the axillary nerve
  • C5, C6; Upper trunk; posterior cord
  • Courses post. through the quadrangular space, divides into the post. terminal branch, innervates teres minor, then continues as the sup. lat. cutaneous n.

  • Palmar cutaneous branch (of the median nerve)
  • C5, C6, C7, C8, T1; Superior, middle, and inferior trunks; medial and lateral cords
  • Courses adjacent to brachial a., enters forearm via cubital fossa, courses b/w flex. digit. profundus and superficialis, branches off to hand prior to carpal tunnel

  • Digital cutaneous branch, a branch of the median nerve
  • C5, C6, C7, C8, T1; Upper, middle, and lower trunks; medial and lateral cords
  • Courses adjacent to brachial a., enters forearm via cubital fossa, courses b/w flex. digit. profundus and superficialis, courses through carpal tunnel into hand

  • Posterior cutaneous nerve of the arm, a branch of the radial nerve
  • C5, C6, C7, C8, T1; Sup., middle, and inf. trunk; posterior cord
  • Arises in the upper arm distal to the axilla, proximal to the radial groove

  • Posterior cutaneous nerve of the forearm, a branch of the radial nerve
  • C5, C6, C7, C8, T1; Sup., middle, and inf. trunk; posterior cord
  • Arises in the upper arm distal to the axilla, proximal to the radial groove

  • Superficial branch, a terminal division of the radial nerve
  • C5, C6, C7, C8, T1; Sup., middle, and inf. trunk; posterior cord
  • Courses inferiorly from axilla via triangular interval, into the radial groove, spirals the humerus to the anterior lateral epicondyle, through the cubital fossa, then itself is the radial nerve's terminal branch

  • Lower lateral cutaneous nerve of the arm, a branch of the radial nerve
  • C5, C6, C7, C8, T1; Sup., middle, and inf. trunk; posterior cord
  • Arises in the upper arm distal to the axilla, proximal to the radial groove
  • Superficial branch (of the ulnar nerve)
  • Courses post. to medial epicondyle, pierces flex. carpi ulnaris, crosses wrist superficial to flexor retinaculum entering the hand via Guyon's canal before branching
  • C8, T1; inf. trunk; medial cord
  • Palmar cutaneous branch (of the ulnar nerve)
  • Courses post. to medial epicondyle, pierces flex. carpi ulnaris and branches proximal to Guyon's canal, but still is susceptible to wrist laceration injury
  • C8, T1; inf. trunk; medial cord
  • Dorsal cutaneous branch (of the ulnar nerve)
  • Courses post. to medial epicondyle, pierces flex. carpi ulnaris and branches proximal to Guyon's canal - isn't susceptible to wrist laceration injury
  • C8, T1; inf. trunk; medial cord

  • Medial antebrachial cutaneous nerve
  • C8, T1; lower trunk; medial cord
  • Coursing inferiorly gives a filament that supplies skin over the biceps brachii. Distal to the elbow it divides into volar and ulnar branches

  • Medial brachial cutaneous nerve
  • C8, T1; lower trunk; medial cord
  • Smalles nerve branching from the brachial plexus
