What are the two phases of dot stand and their driving movements? |
Pre-extension: driven by forward lean (hip flexion and lumbar extension) and dorsiflexion
Extension: driven by hip and knee extension |
|
What are the three possible handling techniques for assisting a sit to stand? |
1: both knees blocking the weaker knee whilst hands reach forward to hold hip. Doesn’t work well for big size differences
2: hold unaffected Hand whilst other hand supports near the armpit of the affected side
3: stand perpendicular to patient, block affected knee with your medial knee, use hand to support unaffected armpit. Can provide UL support |
