**EXAM**
1. Clouding of consciousness with reduced ability to focus, sustain, or shift attention

2. A cognitive change (e.g., memory deficit, disorientation, language disturbance) or perceptual disturbance that is not better accounted for by a preexisting, established, or evolving dementia

3. Development over short period of time (hours to days), with a tendency to fluctuate during the course of the day

4. Evidence from the history, physical examination, or laboratory studies that the disturbance is caused by a general medical condition, medication or other substance exposure, substance withdrawal, or multiple etiologic disorders
In this type of delirium patients appear lethargic, have excess somnolence and are sluggish

These individuals are often not recognized as they do not cause a disturbance
