What regions are involved with emotions and drives?
heteromodal association cortex, limbic cortex, amygdala, septal area, ventral striatum, hypothalamus, bs autonomic and arousal pathways.
What are the amygdala neuclei and what are their functions?
Basolateral nucleus: largest in humans and involved in direct/indirect connections btwn amygdala and diverse cortical areas, basal forebrain, medial thalamus.
Corticomedial nucleus: olfaction, hypothalamus to regulate appetitive states.
Central nucleus: hypothalamus and brainstem to assist with autonomic control
