Basolateral nucleus: largest in humans and involved in direct/indirect connections btwn amygdala and diverse cortical areas, basal forebrain, medial thalamus.
Corticomedial nucleus: olfaction, hypothalamus to regulate appetitive states. Central nucleus: hypothalamus and brainstem to assist with autonomic control |
