2. Leap into water with one leg forward, other leg back
3. Lean slightly forward, with chest ahead of hips, focus on victim

1. Squeeze rescue tube high up on chest, hold excess line
2. Jump out and away from lifeguard chair, in a wave pool, jump to land on the crest (top) of a wave

2. Reach across tube and grasp the person at the armpit to help maintain balance (If underwater, grasp the person under the armpits with both hands, help them up, assist them to exit if necessary)

1. Extend tube to victim, by laying on the ground if they're far away or keeping body weight on your back foot and crouching to avoid being pulled into water
2. Tell victim to grab the rescue tube

Active Victim Front Rescue
1. Approach victim from front
2. As you near the victim, grab rescue tube from under arms, push tube out in front of you
3. Thrust the rescue tube slightly underwater and into victims chest, keep tube between you and the victim, encourage victim to hold onto tube
4. Keep kicking, fully extend arms and move victim to a safe exit point.

Active Victim Rear Rescue
1. Approach victim from behind with rescue tube across your chest
2. With both arms, reach under victim's armpits and grasp the shoulders firmly, tell victim you're there to help, continue to reassure the victim throughout the rescue
3. Using your chest, squeeze the rescue tube between your chest and the victim's back, keep head to one side
4. Lean back and pull the victim onto the rescue tube, making sure the victim's mouth and nose are out of the water, tow to safety

Passive Victim Rear Rescue
1. Approach the face down victim from behind with rescue tube across chest
2. With both arms, reach under the victim's armpits and grasp shoulders firmly, squeeze the rescue tube between your chest and the victim's back, keep head to one side
3. Roll victim over by dipping your shoulder and trolling onto your back so the victim is face up, keep their mouth and nose out of water, place tube under victim's shoulders so the victim's head is in an open-airway position
4. Tow to safety, for greater distances, use one hand to stroke and the other firmly grasps over the shoulder, remove from water, provide appropriate care

Multiplr-Victim Rescue
1. Approach one victim from behind, with both arms, reach under the victim's armpits and grasp shoulders. Squeeze rescue tube between your chest and their back, keep head to one side.
2. Use rescue tube to support both victims with their mouths and noses out of the water, talk to them to reassure them
3. Support both victims until other lifeguards arrive or the victims become calm enough to assist with moving to a safe exit point
