Perform head splint Wait for LG2 to perform vice grip Bring arms of casualty down Get out of pool and bring secure PXB board against wall and lower it into water Give guidance to LG2 as they trawl casualty onto PXB board As casualty is up onto the board allow it to rise in the water Wait for LG2 to securely hold the board with their arm underneath the board Then secure the position of casualty’s head Wait for LG2 to apply green and blue straps, and apply a vice grip Place foam blocks either side of head then securely hold the board Wait for LG2 to apply last 2 straps before they move to end of board Lift board up as LG2 pushes it out the water |

PXB board: vice grip |
Prepare PXB board at the side of pool Apply vice grip once LG1 has done a head splint Wait for LG1 to secure board to side of pool Trawl casualty onto board, making sure the casualty is aligned with the board properly Remove arm from underneath casualty and use it to secure the board Wait for LG1 to secure the casualties head and check they have the board stabilised then apply green then blue straps Apply vice grip and secure board then wait for LG1 to apply head blocks Wait for LG1 to secure the board then apply lower straps Position yourself at lower end of board and prepare to push board out of water. |

Sling techniques |
Support: corner to elbow, pass bandage under the arm and the other half comes over and ties over the shoulder Elevation: Corner to elbow, have the whole bandage in front of the arm before folding half under the elbow and bringing it round the back |

How to turn casualty onto back |
Turn head to face away from you Place nearest arm above their head Pull casualties far shoulder, while clamping their wrist against their hip As they turn, support their head |

Put nearest arm out and elbow bent Bring far arm across and clamp the back of hand to the near cheek of the casualty Pull the far leg up and over to roll casualty |
