NONVASCULAR PLANTS


Division Bryophyta

Lacks vascular tissue (xylem & phloem.) Therefore live in damp area. Require water for fertilization. Do NOT have true stems, leaves, and roots. E.g mosses, liverworts, and hornworts.

Division Pterophyta

Earliest Vascular plants. Contain xylem and phloem, as well true stems, leaves, and roots. Do NOT have seeds. Possess SPORES which can be scattered by wind.

True Vascular plants. Cones carry seeds. Most are large evergreen trees. E.g Pines, Firs, and cedars. Naked-Seed plants aka GYMNOSPERMS. They DON'T produce flowers.
