ramifications of the fact that God is true

2. God is all he should be

3.God is always consistent with himself

4. in regard to all things that God revealed he has reveled them accurately and truthfully.

5. God and his revelation are completely reliable. God always speaks the truth and always keeps his promises.

Give thorough evidence of the following statement: God is everywhere, but there are varying manifestations of His presence

God is everywhere because he is omnipresent and he is spirit so he is be everywhere at all times. God chose to manifest his presence at certain times, and in certain ways, such as through the burning bush to talk to Moses and within the heart of every believer.

List natural limitations regarding God’s omnipotence and explain why each of those limitations is true

God can not die, because he is eternal, it is impossible for God to lie because he is true, God can not be tempted to sin because he is holy, God can not look with approval on sin because he is holy, God can not deny himself or go back on his word because he is faithful, and God can not fail because he is infalliable.

Give Biblical examples of how God has wisely used even wicked people to accomplish His purpose

150 years before Cyrus the eventually King of Persia was born God declared that He would be the one that would allow the Temple to be rebuilt in Jerusalem.

King Herod and Pontius Pilate were both used by God to fulfill the cruxifiction of Jesus which God had decided from the beginning, to save the people from sin.

Summarize the heretical teaching known as universalism and refute it with Biblical evidence

Universalism teaches that since God is love He will ultimately save all people. This is wrong because it misintreperts the concept of God's love and it contradicts other direct statements of scripture, such as if anyone's name is not found in the Lamb's book of life he will be thrown into the lake of fire.

Distinguish between mercy and grace

Grace is the undeserved favor of God shown to mankind, and Mercy is where God withholds deserved punishement.

Distinguish between the Old Testament concept of grace and the New Testament concept of grace

The old testament included delieverance from enemies afflictions and adversity, and the New Testament concept of grace reveals God's saving grace experienced by those who put their personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Why is it appropriate for God to be jealous and what circumstances cause Him to become appropriately jealous?

The concept of God's jealousy is consistent with God's sovereignty. God is appropriately jealous when we give to anyone or anything else the worship, praise, honor and allegiance that rightfully belongs to him.

Explain what is involved in correctly understanding passages that seem to present God as “repenting” and not sending the judgment He warned He would send. Be sure to include the three principles related to this matter

1. God's character never changes. God is always consistent in his character.

2. God's attitude toward sin and righteousness never changes.

3. God's treatment of people does change as they change from ungodliness to godliness or vice versa.

List and explain the four basic aspects of God’s providence

1.General Providence: God cares for all things and people providing for their needs according to his his purpose.

2. Special Providence: God directly and actively intervines in people's personal lives.

3.Preventive Providence: God sometimes prevents things he knows are harmful or sinful.

4. Permissive Providence: God allows people to chose their own way, even if it means rebelling against him.

What is the purpose that characterizes everything God has done, is doing, or ever will do?

The outcome of God's sovereign activity is His own glory. God works everything out in conformity with the purpose of His will, so that everything that will be done is to his glory.

Does God’s sovereignty make Him the source of sin and evil? Explain your answer, giving the basis for that answer

No, it dosent, because God is absolutely holy, and if he was the source of sin and evil then it would contradict what He has said about his character.

If God is in control, how can the world be so filled with evil?

God created mankind the best way possible with genuine freedom. The world is filled with evil because people repeatedly choose to sin. God in his goodness and wisdom has granted human beings the freedom of making choices.

List and explain the three different aspects of God’s will

1. There is a perfect aspect to God's will. God says do not sin.

2. There is a permissive aspect to God's will. God essesntially says I will let you sin and suffer the consequences.

3. There is a providential aspect to God's will. God essentially says I will bring good and accomplish my purpose for my glory in spite of your sin.

If God is in control, why do wicked people sometimes prosper? And why should we not envy wicked people who prosper?

Wicked people sometimes prosper because God is merciful and do not treat the wicked people like their sins deserve. God is gracious. He blesses people (even wicked people in ways they do not deserve. God is patient with wicked people giving them opportunities to repent. Wicked people sometimes prosper because they use their intellect to make smart decisions. We shouldn't envy the wicked people because any success they have is temporary.

Does the sovereignty of God contradict the free will of mankind? Explain your answer

No, because God gives us free will, to make choices as we please, and God does not force anything on us. We are responsible for our choices, and those who reject God's offer of salvation will perish. But God's sovereignty includes his foreknowledge about everything that will ever happen including the role we will play in his purpose that he will accomplish no matter what. People do not turn to God unless God is working in their heart an example of God's sovereignty, and people are commanded to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in order to be saved evidence of free will and responsibility.

Give a significant example from the Bible of the concurrence of God knowing men’s actions in advance and using them to accomplish His purpose, yet holding them personally responsible for their actions

The crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ shows that God knows men's actions in advance, because Jesus knew that this was the only way that he could save mankind, but God still punished the people who crucified him.

The appropriate ways for us to respond to God’s sovereignty

1. a sense of awe and reverence and a passionate desire to worship and exalt God.

2. the confidence that God is in control, in every aspect of our lives.

3. The assurance that God can bring good out of evil.

4. dependence on God in every moment of our lives.

5. humble submission to God and obedience to him in daily life.

6. gratitude that god desires to use us to do his work.

7. a desire to serve God faithfully and bring glory to God.
